Crazy Pills?

Am I taking crazy pills, or does everything seem out of control lately?

Our country doesn't make much sense to me.

The politicians spend more than they make (in tax revenue), but now want to run businesses and banks. Businesses that spend more than they make go bankrupt. Politicians that do this want to tell businesses how to conduct themselves to make a profit.

The housing market falls, so we loan money to bail out the banks who just proved that they are more interested in greed than smart lending.

We spend over 1.5 trillion dollars in addition to the cost of 2 wars that we are fighting and in addition to our normal national budget (which is still running a deficit). And then we have a fiscal responsibility summit.

We don't have enough money to do all of this, so we simply print more.

Everyone says we are dependent on fossil fuels, but prices are down and demand is down, so much so that oil refineries are now producing less in hopes of keeping prices higher for us.

The government can't run the DMV well, but we are supposed to believe that they will do a better job with our own health care.

Since our government is broke and bankrupt, they think that now we should overhaul the health care system with taxpayer money, and nationalize the health care system. Although they spent all the taxpayer money and more just a couple sentences ago. This doesn't even seem to be related to an economic crisis, but we are told that it is, and therefore we need to spend more money on it.

The government throws around money like it's nothing, when in fact it is something that you and I give them. So we give the government our tax dollars, they loan them to banks, who then loan that money back to us again with interest?

We don't make enough to pay for what we already owe, and the answer is to spend more?

Crazy pills. I must be taking crazy pills.
